Nearly 1 in 5 U.S. adults live with a mental illness. The Mental Health Association in New York State, Inc. (MHANYS) was awarded a grant from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), Capital Region Project AWARE Grant. This grant focuses on increasing awareness, care, and support that the General Public receives for behavioral health challenges. In doing so, MHANYS' is providing free Virtual Mental Health & Wellness 101 training to individuals within Albany, Rensselaer, Saratoga, and Schenectady counties. Mental Health & Wellness 101 is an interactive 1-hour training. The goal of this training is to reduce stigmatizing attitudes and beliefs by promoting a comprehensive understanding of mental health, the importance of self-care and treatment-seeking behaviors, and hope for recovery. Why Should I Take Mental Health & Wellness 101? 1 in 5 American adults experience a mental illness each year. Increase basic knowledge of mental health to help reduce stigma. Promote wellness, treatment-seeking behavior, recovery, and self-care. We've set a new community training and would like to include your staff, volunteers, and the broader community. Tuesday, June 30th from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out!
