GUILDERLAND CHAMBER OF COMMERCE ANNOUNCES RIBBON-CUTTING FOR THE SCENE AT 1671 WESTERN
AVENUE
Guilderland, NY - August 8, 2023 - The Guilderland Chamber of Commerce is very excited to welcome new business The Scene to Guilderland with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday, August 24, 3:00 pm at 1671 Western Avenue, Guilderland. The Guilderland Chamber is partnering with The Capital Region Chamber of Commerce to celebrate this momentous occasion.
Residents from all over the region have been watching the former Friendly's for the past year turn into a beautiful, experience-based, social spot. Owner Mariana Lia designed the interiors and exteriors of the building with inspiration from cafes she had seen throughout the country, and wanted The Scene to be Instagram-able, light, and beautiful. The Scene features "Coffee and Cocktails" and an all-day brunch among their offerings.
Mariana recently earned her MBA and has used her business and marketing skills to create a gathering space with new, fun items like a toast bar, espresso martinis, and a champagne vending machine. Innovative technology is everywhere, including a QR code at the table for comfort and ease of ordering with cashless payment only.
The Scene opened softly in July but has been busy almost every day. The ribbon-cutting will be a celebration of all the hard work Marianna and her team put into making The Scene an exciting experience, and fabulous addition to our business community! Mariana shared, “I’m thankful for the response and support from the community, and our team will continue working hard to create memorable experiences for our guests!”
The Guilderland Chamber of Commerce is proud that this woman-owned business has chosen Western Avenue in Guilderland, with Executive Director Sandra Dollard saying "It is great to see a different type of cafe come to Western Avenue and brighten our area with the amazing architectural details, landscaping, and outdoor space. It looks like it could be a movie set!"
