Join us for a short informational tour of the historic sections in St. Agnes Cemetery followed by lunch. August 30th at 11 AM Space is limited! Register by August 27. Ticket price is $25 and includes lunch. Catholic Rural Cemeteries such as our lovely St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands founded in 1867 played a very important role in the way the remains of the departed were respected throughout the decades. They still are important and uphold traditions intrinsic to the Catholic mission to treat the living and the dead with love and compassion. Nothing in the basic sentiment of St. Agnes Cemetery’s original charter has changed. It was designed to be a place of peace with orderly, well maintained grounds in perpetuity. The tranquil beauty of these sacred grounds draws thousands of visitors annually. I am offering a short informational tour of the historic sections in St. Agnes Cemetery to lend attendees insight on why rural cemeteries were established and why monuments look the way they do. Our informational tour will end with a lovely luncheon at noon on cemetery grounds overlooking the Hudson River Valley.
